Human / Ties

Humanities Event Design

With speakers such as Sir Salman Rushdie, Junot Diaz and Lulu Miller, Human/Ties is a four-day celebration of the 50th anniversary of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Dozens of lectures, performances, film screenings and art exhibits will feature leading scholars known for a range of work, from contributing to The New Yorker and Slate magazine to Civil Rights activists and Harvard professors.

Print Design: The campaign poster design layers illustrated paint swirls to represent the various categories of events.

Print Design: The program piece included a diecut on the cover that highlighted the "50" years that the NEH has been active.

Print Design:  The inner cover of the program illustrated a full image of the dripping paint, shown through in the diecut.

Icon Design: Symbols used throughout the festival added a geometric modernity to the brand identity and played off of the clean logo design.

Secondary Logo Design: Hands generated from the "paint" illustration formed an H in the negative space of the fingers.

Print Design: A promotional banner hung over a prominent driving area to advertise highlighted speakers.
